How to read the chart
Each character is a run of dots (short) and dashes (long). When sending, leave a short gap between letters and a longer gap between words. The chart above is the International Morse code standard, used worldwide today. (An older "American" Morse code once used on US landline telegraphs differs for some characters, but International Morse is the version used in radio, aviation, and everywhere else now.)
